Jung Ying Lu-Chen 陳呂中瑛 lu@hawaii.edu, Instructor at the Center for Interpretation and Translation Studies, as well as the Department of East Asian Languages and Literatures at the University of Hawaii. She received her Ph.D. in Linguistics from the University of Hawaii. She is very technically inclined, having taught web-based and web-supported Chinese language courses and Engilsh-Chinese translation courses. In the Spring of 1998 she received the Instructor’s Award for Innovative Teaching of the College of LLL to conduct a research project to compile web-based resources for Chinese language teaching and learning. Since that time Web-based resources have formed an integral part of her Chinese language and translation courses. For the past decade, her focus has been on developing and teaching Web-based and Web-supported advanced Chinese language courses as well as English-Chinese translation courses. In her spare time as a mother of three, she continues to translate and edit translated books.
